The Engage Violence Prevention Training was designed to introduce students to the concept that by contributing to a culture of care within their campus community, they can be a part of creating a safer campus community.

In addition to providing information on the reduction of harm related to substance use, interpersonal violence, acts of bias and discrimination, and suicide/mental well-being, this training will also cover:

  1. Importance of building community connectedness through the development of safe and inclusive campuses and how it contributes to a reduction of harm
  2. Importance of being an engaged community member
  3. Methods of showing care through being an engaged community member
  4. Overcoming barriers that might be faced when assessing ability to be an engaged bystander and how different identities might influence the ability or willingness to show care or be an engaged community member
  5. Available resources

It is our hope that this program provides you with knowledge of how you can contribute to the health and safety of our campus community and the understanding that although you might not always know how to help or show care in a particular situation, it’s important that you do show care.

This training program should take between 20-30 minutes to complete. It is intended to be educational and should be completed in one sitting as logging in and out of the program may cancel your progress.
